Mighty Eletryk Dragon

The Eletryk dragon species is a type of dragon found in forest/mountainous areas. They live in pods of families. One pod will have one head dragon, known as the the highest. Eletryk dragons are more peaceful creatures and prefer not to fight unless absolutely necessary. The spikes on its back aren't used for weapons and actually are not for battle at all. The spines, as they are called, actually controls the Eletryk's body temperature and helps it detect movements in their surroundings. The dragons will use the spines to detect an enemy near by too. When traveling in dense or foggy areas the Eletryk can light it's self up, with a neon yellow glow. Dragon young will usually have a more orange colored glow. Eletryk Dragons will use their glow to find one another or glow when they are lost or wonder from the pod. Eletryks have earned the name as 'The Mighty Fireflys of the forest' or 'neon fireflies/dragons'. The reason for the glowing power of Eletryks is that surges of power run through their skin. They are also capable of releasing small discharges of electricity. The two fin like horns on their heads work like electricity conductors, absorbing electricity. They are attracted to electricity and are most active during storms. Another use for their glow is during mating season. The brighter the better. Nest will either be slightly under ground or in the sides of mountains hidden away from everything else. Eletryk will eat plants, wood, berries and bugs. If food is scarce, Eletryk will eat other animals. These shy mostly gentle dragons are not known for being in contact at all with humans but occasionally they will wonder toward power plants, because of the large amounts of power and electricity.

oh and by the way Eletryk isn't pronounced electric it's pronunced (e-le-trike) e as in Eel, le as in LEnd, trike as in TRICycle.
